Van Halen II comes a year after the highly successful debut of Van Halen. The group, having ready material that goes back in time, does not find it difficult to complete the new album in one week of recordings.

In their second album, Van Halen, while staying true to the hard rock sound with which they had gained acceptance and love from the public, do not hesitate to incorporate some other elements that are scattered here and there. Elements of funk, pop, and even progressive. The first single of the album was Dance The Night Away, a song that accompanied the band in the following years.

Ted Templeman was the producer - as in the first album - who manages to make Van Halen II come as the natural evolution of the first record. In the U.S., Van Halen has sold over 5,000,000 copies.
