About the album Led Zeppelin II

Led Zeppelin II, which was released in 1969, is considered and indeed is one of the albums that defined how hard rock should sound. Essentially, its sound is the exact next step from blues rock to hard rock. The album was recorded on the go as Led Zeppelin recorded between concerts and other commitments in the U.S. and England. The producers of the album were Jimmy Page and Eddie Kramer. Led Zeppelin II consists of nine songs, six of which are original compositions by the band and three are covers-reinterpretations of classic Chicago blues songs.

The album cover is one of the most "incomprehensible" covers in the history of rock 'n' roll. Designer David Juniper took a photograph taken during World War I depicting some members of the British air strike force "Flying Circus" and replaced the faces of four members of this special unit with the photos of the four members of Led Zeppelin. The female figure on the cover belongs to the French actress Delphine Seyrig.

Sales of this legendary album are close to 15,000,000 copies worldwide. Led Zeppelin II reached No. 1 in eight countries at the time of its initial release.
