About the album Aerosmith
In 1973, a relatively unknown group of four guys from Boston released their debut named after their band, Aerosmith. The sound of the album is now the characteristic American hard rock sound of the '70s.
The album did not achieve great success at the time of its release, and any success was built on its successful single "Dream On," which was re-released as a single in 1975 and achieved greater success (reaching No. 6 in the U.S.), prompting the label to re-release the album with a different cover that stated "featuring Dream On."
Over the years, it has sold over 2,000,000 copies.
