About the album Balance

The tenth studio album by Van Halen from 1995 titled Balance is the last one in which Sammy Hagar participates on vocals and Michael Anthony participates in all songs playing bass. Bruce Fairbairn undertook the production of the album. The initial intention was for it to be titled The Seventh Seal.

The title of the album Balance - obviously - has to do with the effort the band makes to present a balanced album between the classic hard rock sound that characterized the group’s early discographic years and the second period, which leaned towards glam metal. By listening to the first two songs of the album, The Seventh Seal and Can't Stop Lovin' You, one perceives this effort, which they also try to display on the album cover. The album contains three instrumental compositions, something that had not happened before.

Balance reached No. 1 on the Billboard chart and sold 3,000,000 copies in the United States of America.
