About the album 5150

The name of the studio, which belonged to Eddie Van Halen and was called 5150, gives its name to the seventh album of Van Halen, which was recorded there between November 1985 and February 1986. As a result, 5150 was a 1986 release.

Three major changes were made with this album. The first had to do with the appearance of Sammy Hagar in the performance of the songs, as David Lee Roth had left. The second was with the musical style of the album, as Eddie Van Halen's obsession with synthesizers fully prevailed in the sound of the songs on the album. The third change had to do with the production of the album. Longtime producer Ted Templeman had also departed, and his place was taken by Mick Jones of Foreigner and Donn Landee, who was a sound engineer in the band's previous works.

The album reached No. 1 on Billboard. This happened for the first time for Van Halen as glam metal had fully dominated the preferences of the rock music-loving audience in the United States. With nearly 7,000,000 copies sold worldwide, 5150 is the third best-selling studio album of Van Halen.
