About the album Obsession

In 1978, the London-based UFO marked ten years as a band and celebrated with a very good hard rock album titled Obsession. Obsession is their seventh studio album in order, but it will also be the last album in which the German guitarist Michael Shenker participates, who had been with them since 1974. Shenker will return after approximately fifteen years.

In the producer's seat was American Ron Nevison, who brought them to Los Angeles to an abandoned post office, which he had converted into a studio. The cover was yet another work of the design team Hipgnosis.

The album is considered one of the most successful albums from a commercial standpoint and in terms of charts. In Great Britain, it reached No. 26 and in the U.S. No. 41, while it is one of the few UFO albums that made some slight impact in distant Australia.
