Force It by UFO
About the album Force It
The UFO with their 1975 album Force It, which is their fourth studio album, continue to build their myth as one of the most important British hard rock—and on the fringes of heavy metal—bands of the 1970s.
The key players in composing the nine musical tracks of Force It are the German guitarist Michael Schenker and the singer Phil Mogg. Responsible for the production of the album was Leo Lyons, bassist of Ten Years After. The album initially drew attention because of its cover, which was the work of the design team Hipgnosis. The cover depicts two girls passionately kissing in a bathtub, who a few years later were revealed to be members of Throbbing Gristle, Genesis P-Orridge and Cosey Fanni Tutti (!)
In order for the album to be accepted in the U.S. market—due to the cover—the record was released on the other side of the Atlantic with the controversial part blurred. Eventually, Force It managed to become the first UFO album to enter the Billboard Top-200, reaching No. 71.
