The Scorpions with Taken By Force reach their fifth album. The Germans from Hanover present an amazing album in 1977, one of their best in their long rock career.

Herman Rarrebell appears for the first time playing drums on Taken By Force, while it is the last album in which Uli Jon Roth participates. The only instance where someone else's lyrics are used for a Scorpions' song is found here. It is the song We'll Burn The Sky, for which lyrics from a poem by Monika Dannemann, who was Jimi Hendrix's last relationship and also Uli Jon Roth's wife, are used. The cover caused reactions and was replaced in many countries. The Scorpions simply wanted to convey an anti-war message.

The producer is Dieter Dierks. Taken By Force did not manage to achieve any success on any charts. Today it is considered the top discographic work of the German hard rockers for their first period.
