About the album Rock Believer

Rock Believer is the nineteenth studio album by the German band Scorpions, which was released on February 25, 2022. It marks a milestone for the band, as it was released exactly 50 years after their debut, Lonesome Crow (1972). The band chose to record live in a room, as they did in the '80s, to capture the energy of a live performance. Thus, it is characterized as a return to the "DNA" of classic Scorpions, with hard rock and heavy metal elements reminiscent of the Blackout and Love At First Sting eras. Rightly, this particular album seeks a place among the group's masterpiece albums from Hanover.

The album was mainly recorded at Peppermint Park Studios in Hanover and mixed at the legendary Hansa Studios in Berlin. The production was undertaken by the Scorpions themselves along with Hans-Martin Buff. The album was created during the lockdowns of the pandemic. It is the first studio album with drummer Mikkey Dee (formerly of Motörhead), who added a more "wild" and dynamic feel to the sound. It was initially planned to be recorded in Los Angeles with producer Greg Fidelman (Metallica, Slipknot), but travel restrictions forced the band to stay in Hanover. The singles that promoted the release were Peacemaker, Rock Believer, Seventh Sun, and Shining Of Your Soul.

The album debuted in Germany at No.2 on the German charts. In the U.S., it reached No.4 on the Billboard Top Album Sales (with 12,000 sales in the first week) and No.59 on the Billboard 200. Rock Believer reached No.18 in the United Kingdom. It noted significant success in Europe, entering the Top-10 in many countries, such as France and Switzerland.
