Crazy World by Scorpions
About the album Crazy World
In 1990, the German band Scorpions released their eleventh studio album titled Crazy World. The Scorpions appeared with a new producer, the American Keith Olsen, in their desperate effort to conquer the American market.
Crazy World became the Scorpions' biggest commercial success when least expected. The single "Wind Of Change" became the anthem for the political changes that took place in the early 1990s in the former Soviet Union. It seemed ironic for a German band to sing about political and social freedom in the Soviet Union 45 years after the end of World War II.
The "Wind Of Change" single alone sold 14,000,000 copies worldwide (!). On the other hand, the album has sold over 3,500,000 copies globally, with most sales occurring in Europe.
