Bent Out Of Shape by Rainbow
About the album Bent Out Of Shape
For the recording needs of Rainbow's seventh studio album, the band moved to Sweet Silence Studios in Copenhagen in 1983. Its title is Bent Out Of Shape and it is the last album before the dissolution of the band. Roger Glover is once again in production, while Joe Lynn Turner is on vocals for the third consecutive album.
The album cover was one of the last works of Hipgnosis. Bent Out Of Shape was considered an attempt by Rainbow and Blackmore to reach a larger purchasing audience outside the hard rock community. At this point, an unexpected thing happened. The video clip for Street Of Dreams, which was the first single from the album, was banned by MTV and thus the song did not reach the wider audience.
Bent Out Of Shape reached No. 11 in the United Kingdom and No. 34 in the United States.
