Rising by Rainbow
About the album Rising
Ritchie Blackmore, for the recording needs of the second Rainbow album, keeps only Ronnie James Dio on vocals and changes the rest of the group's lineup.
The band gathers in Munich at Musicland Studios and after a month, Rising is ready. Many consider it one of Rainbow's most complete works. For many hard rock and heavy metal fans, Rising is something like the "Holy Grail", an album milestone of hard music. Cozy Powell makes a great contribution on drums, as he joins the band for the first time. Martin Birch is once again on production, while for the symphonic needs of Stargazer, Rainbow will collaborate with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra.
At the time Rising was released, it managed to reach No. 11 in the UK, while its reception in the USA was more subdued, as it peaked at No. 48.
