About the album Hotter Than Hell
For their second album, Kiss leave New York and move to Los Angeles for its recording. The producers remain the same, Kenny Kerner and Richie Wise. Thus, Hotter Than Hell is recorded during August and September of 1974 and released in October of the same year. Therefore, Kiss had two releases in the same year.
The album is also known for its cover. It's a work by John Van Hamersveld, which adopts the Japanese manga aesthetic. The compositions and performances of the songs are shared among all four members of the group. Kiss continue in the hard rock style of their first album.
The album managed to become gold, but this was made possible at the beginning of 1977. The only single that emerged was for the song Let Me Go, Rock 'n' Roll. The highest position it reached on Billboard was No. 100.
