About the album Destroyer
Thanks to their fourth album, Destroyer, the American band KISS began to become known beyond the USA and to grow their reputation. Destroyer was the first studio album to go gold.
Destroyer was characterized by the group's collaboration in production with Bob Ezrin with whom they immediately clicked. Having in mind his collaboration with Alice Cooper, he used techniques and tricks he had applied in his work with Cooper in the sound production. The KISS members had faith in his capabilities and had placed their hopes on him. They were 100% right in their choice. An additional collaboration characterizing the album was with science fiction hero designer Ken Kelly, who was commissioned to design the cover, which made a big impression at the time.
At the time of its release, the album was at No. 11 in the USA. Destroyer has now sold 2,000,000 copies in the USA.
