About the album Dynasty
Dynasty, which is the seventh studio album by the band from New York, was released in May 1979 at the height of disco. KISS have incorporated disco into Dynasty, as evidenced by the single I Was Made For Lovin' You and more.
The album was produced by Vini Poncia, while there was a serious possibility that Giorgio Moroder would take over the production. Another thing that characterized the album and its recording was the dismissal of Peter Criss from the drummer position. The only song he managed to record was Dirty Livin'. Session drummer Anton Fig played drums on the rest of the album's tracks.
Dynasty as an album did quite well commercially as it reached No. 9 on the Billboard and its sales in the United States reached 1,000,000. The paradox is that in the United Kingdom the album did not go higher than No. 50, while in France it reached No. 2 and in the Netherlands No. 1, selling 100,000 copies (!). What is certain is that the album over time has functioned as a landmark album, and thus there is a before and after Dynasty era for KISS.
