About the album Electronic
The album Electronic by Electronic made its appearance in 1991. Bernard Sumner of New Order and Johnny Marr of the Smiths collaborated and recorded an alternative dance and synth-pop album, which pleasantly surprised the music-loving audience, especially in Great Britain and Europe.
The collaboration between the two began in December 1989 with the single Getting Away With It, which also featured Neil Tennant of the Pet Shop Boys on vocals. All the songs were composed by the duo except for The Patience Of A Saint, which also involved the Pet Shop Boys. Sumner and Marr also took on the production of the album, which is, of course, closer to the sound of New Order than that of the Smiths.
Electronic reached No. 2 in the United Kingdom and went gold, with sales reaching 100,000.
