About the album Twisted Tenderness
The British duo Electronic, namely Bernard Sumner and Johnny Marr, choose a photo of the Russian mystic Grigori Rasputin for the cover of their third and final album. Obviously, the life and work of this particular person relate to the title of the album, which is Twisted Tenderness. The album was released in 1999, and its musical style is between alternative rock and electronic music.
In order to record the album, Sumner and Marr invited Doves bassist Jimi Goodwin and Black Grape drummer Ged Lynch to participate in the recordings, and they responded positively. The first single from the album, Vivid, was quite a big success in late 1999 and early 2000. The production of the album is attributed to the aforementioned two and Arthur Baker, who had worked with New Order in the past.
