About the album Technique
The fifth studio album by New Order is titled Technique and was released in early 1989. The sound of Technique is fully in harmony with the dance trends of the clubs of that era in compositions like Fine Time, which opens the album and was also its first single. Even those compositions that lean towards a "rock" sound leave no doubt that they aimed to have a place in nightlife entertainment at some club anywhere in the world.
A small part of the album was recorded in Ibiza, Spain, heavily influenced by the island's summer and wild atmosphere. The band rushed back to London to continue and complete it, as it wasn't such a good idea to record in Ibiza during the summer period. However, New Order managed to convey with the compositions of Technique the atmosphere they experienced in the Mediterranean for a summer. Technique is the album that invites you to dance and party.
The album reached No.1 in the UK, while even No.32 on the Billboard was a success, as it was accompanied by approximately 500,000 sales in the United States.
