About the album Foxbase Alpha
Sarah Cracknell and her band, Saint Etienne, released their first album titled Foxbase Alpha in 1991, which was produced by the band's own members.
Foxbase Alpha is an album that mostly contains alternative dance and indie pop compositions. On the other hand, within the album there are moments that draw their style from the 1960s, as happens in Spring or even better in the cover of Only Love Can Break Your Heart, a song by Neil Young. Thus, one could say that with their debut, Saint Etienne stand with one foot in the British pop of the sixties and the other in the dance music of London clubs of the early 1990s.
Foxbase Alpha reached No. 34 in the United Kingdom.
