About the album Facelift
The band Alice In Chains was formed in Seattle in 1987 and quickly developed into one of the city's dominant bands to the point that by 1990 they managed to release their debut titled Facelift.
The album's producer was David Jerden, while most of the songs are compositions by guitarist Jerry Cantrell, who also had the assistance of singer Layne Staley on some of them. The album gave significant momentum to Alice In Chains' career as its success led them to play at festivals with names such as Van Halen, Metallica, and Megadeth, where they had the opportunity to present their work to a significantly larger audience.
Facelift was one of those albums that changed the approach to how hard music would sound in the coming years. What Facelift achieved was to become the first grunge album to go gold in the United States, and with the 3,000,000 copies it has sold, it has now gone triple platinum.
