About the album Purple

In the spring of 1994, Stone Temple Pilots returned to the studio to record their second album, which was released in June of the same year. It was ready in about a month! Purple rightfully ranks among the top albums of the grunge scene.

As soon as it was released, it went to No.1 on the Billboard and gradually reached sales of 6,000,000 copies in the U.S. alone, while it came close to the top in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

The title Purple is written on the cover in Chinese with the ideogram zǐ (紫).
