About the album Foo Fighters

Immediately after the sudden breakup of Nirvana due to Kurt Cobain's suicide, Dave Grohl forms Foo Fighters. However, before creating the group, Grohl enters the studio and with only the help of producer Barrett Jones, records some songs in six days as a catharsis for what had happened the previous year. These would constitute the first self-titled album of Foo Fighters.

According to Dave Grohl himself, the overwhelming majority of the songs existed as demos and he had them in this form before Nirvana's breakup. Only four songs were written from scratch in the studio. The lyrics were not the most carefully crafted due to time pressure.

The album was "doomed" to be compared with Nirvana's work. Over the years, Foo Fighters marked the beginning of the post-grunge era. Its sales in the U.S. reached 1,000,000 copies, reaching No. 23 on the Billboard.
