For Those About To Rock We Salute You of 1981 was released in the aftermath of Back In Black and managed to become the first album by the Australians to reach the top of the U.S. charts. Mutt Lange is found in the production for the third consecutive AC/DC album.

The album released two singles, Let's Get It Up and For Those About To Rock (We Salute You). Over time, the album did not manage to establish itself in the consciousness of the band's fans as equal to AC/DC's previous works, despite the fact that the title track became an integral part of the band's live performances. All the songs of the eighth album by the Australian rockers are signed by Angus & Malcom Young along with Brian Johnson.

Sales of 4,000,000 in the U.S. were considered a failure (!) compared to the "earthquake" caused by Back In Black and its sales. In their homeland, Australia, the album reached No. 3 on the charts.
