About the album Fly On The Wall

Fly On The Wall came in 1985 and was the ninth studio album of the Australians from the beginning of their career and the fourth with Brian Johnson on vocals, while another new member, drummer Simon Wright, was incorporated.

AC/DC insist on their known sound with a more hard rock style, but Fly On The Wall will become another commercial failure, or rather it will not succeed - not even this album - in achieving what had happened four-five years earlier with Back In Black. The album is produced by brothers Angus and Malcolm Young, who cannot provide that extra something that a professional producer could offer, although the songs are objectively good compositions.

This, combined with the rise of glam metal in the mid-'80s in the U.S., made Fly On The Wall sell only 1,000,000 copies. In their homeland, of course, it went three times platinum selling 210,000 copies. Whatever the case, AC/DC seemed - at least discographically - to be getting out of the game at that time, despite the fact that their concerts continued to be a musical event for the city they visited. The big bet was whether the penultimate song, Back In Business, could become a reality or not...
