Blow Up Your Video by AC/DC
About the album Blow Up Your Video
AC/DC with the album Blow Up Your Video reach the tenth album of their career. The title of the album comes from a lyric in the song That's The Way I Wanna Rock 'n' Roll, which was the second single of the album. Harry Vanda and George Young returned to produce the album. The band hadn't worked with them for ten years, since the Powerage era.
AC/DC initially composed sixteen songs, of which ten ended up becoming the album Blow Up Your Video. The producer and brother of Angus, George Young, noticed during the recordings that his younger brother was on the verge of alcoholism, which made collaboration with him difficult. Also, Blow Up Your Video was the last album for drummer Simon Wright. Under these circumstances and with the fact that the group's previous two works hadn't been financially successful, Blow Up Your Video didn't achieve much either. The situation seemed particularly bad for a band of this magnitude.
In the U.S., it reached No. 12 on the Billboard and sold 1,000,000 copies, while in Britain it reached No. 2 and sold 100,000 copies. In their homeland, Australia, it became triple platinum as 210,000 copies were sold there.
