Ready an' Willing by Whitesnake
About the album Ready an' Willing
For the recording needs of Whitesnake's third album, we have a "small" reunion of Deep Purple from the Mark IV era since, apart from David Coverdale on vocals, we have Jon Lord on keyboards and Ian Paice on drums. Ready an' Willing is released in May 1980 and becomes Whitesnake's first album to enter the Top-10 in the United Kingdom.
The musical style of the album moves between hard rock and blues rock. The song Fool For Your Loving is the first single from the record. This particular song will be recorded again years later for the album Slip Of The Tongue in 1989, while Blindman was a remake of the same song that originated from David Coverdale's debut album, White Snake from 1977.
The production of the album belongs to Martin Birch. Ready an' Willing is the first album to achieve relative success, as it also appeared on the Billboard chart, thus boosting Coverdale's confidence.
