Come an' Get It by Whitesnake
About the album Come an' Get It
With their fourth LP, Whitesnake reached No. 2 in their homeland in 1981. Come An' Get It is a very good hard rock album characterized by the rock sound of the previous decade. In more understandable terms, blues rock meets hard rock, and all of this is wrapped in the heart-rending voice of David Coverdale.
Largely responsible for this particular sound are Jon Lord on keyboards and Ian Paice on drums. And of course, the production belongs to the one and only Martin Birch.
In Britain, the album reached 100,000 sales, while it also achieved success in Japan with sales exceeding 100,000 copies. In the USA, Come An' Get It went unnoticed, as it only reached No. 151 on the Billboard charts. Coverdale would have to wait a bit longer for success on the other side of the Atlantic.
