Why Can't We Be Friends?

About the album Why Can't We Be Friends?

In 1974, War from California recorded their seventh studio album titled Why Can't We Be Friends? at Sound City Studios in Los Angeles, which was released the following year. The two standout singles from the album are the title track and Low Rider, which were successfully covered many years later by the bands Smash Mouth and Exodus, respectively.

The entire album is dominated by deep funk that runs through every composition on the album, with plenty of Latin rock elements making a dynamic presence. The songs are compositions by War, who collaborated on the compositions with producer Jerry Goldstein.

Why Can't We Be Friends? reached No. 8 on the Billboard and became the band's fourth consecutive album to go gold due to its sales.
