War is an American musical band that was formed in Long Beach, California in 1969. Their unique blend of genres including funk, jazz, rock, and soul, as well as their socially conscious lyrics, helped them become particularly popular in the 1970s. They have released many successful albums and singles, such as "The World Is a Ghetto," "Why Can't We Be Friends?," "Low Rider," and "Spill the Wine." One of their significant features is the multicultural composition of the group, as well as their ability to unite various musical elements in a unique way.
