About the album Abominog

In their fourteenth album titled Abominog, Uriah Heep delve even deeper into hard rock, a hard rock oriented towards the American market of that era which we would essentially call AOR. It is not a coincidence that its two singles, On The Rebound and That's The Way That It Is, made an impression - to some extent - in the United States of America.

This was one change brought by 1982's Abominog for the English band. The other change was the absence of Ken Hensley, who had been one of the founding members of Uriah Heep and a pillar of the group's success during the 1970s. The third change was that half of the album's songs were covers and not their own compositions.

Despite these structural changes, Abominog is considered one of the remarkable albums of Uriah Heep without resembling in any way the albums from the first half of the 1970s. The album reached No. 34 in the United Kingdom and No. 56 in the USA.
