Synchronicity by The Police
About the album Synchronicity
In December 1982, under the exact same conditions that prevailed during the recording of the Police's fourth album, the creation of Synchronicity, the fifth and final studio album offered by the Police to their fans, also began.
Producer Hugh Padgham helps the three talented musicians to evolve their musical experiments and to incorporate world music into their sound in compositions such as Tea In The Sahara or Walking In Your Footsteps. Synchronicity becomes an immediate success worldwide. Its first single, Every Breath You Take, which is released a month before the official album hits the market, sweeps the charts and becomes one of the most iconic hit songs of the 1980s. The album itself will, years later, be found on lists of the greatest, most significant albums of all time.
Of course, Synchronicity will reach No. 1 in the USA, Britain, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Italy, and Spain. Album sales have reached 20,000,000 copies worldwide. The Police are international rock stars. According to producer Hugh Padgham, the tensions that prevailed among the three members of the Police created such a very good album. On the other hand, they brought the end of the band closer.
