About the album Blondie
The Americans Blondie made their debut discographic appearance in late 1976 with the self-titled album. The songwriting was a collective effort of all the band members, with the main contribution coming from Debbie Harry.
The album was produced by Richard Gottehrer and Craig Leon.
Initially, the album went unnoticed, and the group left the Private Stock label to join Chrysalis, which re-released Blondie in 1977. Its relative success came in England, where New Wave and Punk-Rock were just beginning. It reached No. 75 in Britain and went gold.
