The Police were a successful British rock band formed in 1977 in London. The members of the band were Sting (Gordon Sumner) on vocals and bass, Andy Summers on guitar, and Stewart Copeland on drums. The band was known for its unique sound, which combined influences from rock, punk, and reggae. The Police experienced great success in the late 1970s and early 1980s, with hits such as "Roxanne," "Every Breath You Take," and "Message in a Bottle." Despite their success, the band disbanded in 1986, but reunited for a world tour in 2007-2008.
