About the album Waiting For The Sun
After the success of the first two albums by the Doors, the band found themselves at an impasse. They had recorded all the songs they had ready for the first two albums, so they had to write new material from scratch. The problem was made more difficult by Jim Morrison's increasing dependence on alcohol. Eventually, the Doors entered the Sunset Sound Recorders, but shortly after moved to the TTG Studios in Los Angeles from November 1967 to May 1968 and prepared the Waiting For The Sun. In July 1968, the album titled Waiting For The Sun was released.
The producer of the album was Paul A. Rothchild for the third consecutive album. The eleven songs of the album are all compositions by the four members of the group.
The album was preceded by the singles of the songs The Unknown Soldier and Hello, I Love You. The album immediately became a success. It reached No. 1 on the billboard and remained there for four weeks. Waiting For The Sun reached No. 3 in Canada and No. 16 in Great Britain.
