About the album Axis : Bold As Love
Jimi Hendrix and his band the Experience in late 1967 recorded and released their second work titled Axis: Bold As Love and continued to thrive, leaving a valuable legacy for future rock generations.
The album was recorded at Olympic Studios in London with producer Chas Chandler (for the second time). The album risked not being released or taking a different turn, as Jimi Hendrix forgot the one and only copy of the final version of the first side of the album in a taxi in London.
Axis: Bold As Love sold 1,000,000 copies in the U.S. and 100,000 in Britain. It reached No.3 on the charts in the U.S. and No.5 in Britain. It was a great triumph for the young guitarist and creator.
