About the album The Notorious Byrd Brothers
The Notorious Byrd Brothers was released in early 1968 and clearly captures the culmination of the psychedelic period in California. The album is full of folk rock, baroque pop, psychedelic passages. It was the fifth album by the Byrds.
The album was recorded under adverse conditions, because by the time it was completed, the Byrds had gone from four to two members. David Crosby and Michael Clarke had left.
Its performance on the charts was satisfactory. In the USA, it reached No. 47, and in Great Britain, it reached No. 11.
