About the album Other Voices
The news of Jim Morrison's death hit like a bomb among the audience of the Doors' band, but its impact was even greater among the other three members, who were tirelessly preparing material for the band's seventh studio album while waiting for Morrison to return from Paris. Like it or not, Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger performed the songs of Other Voices, which became the Doors' seventh studio album. The title of the album Other Voices obviously derives from this fact. The album is produced by the Doors and Bruce Botnick.
Robby Krieger has expressed his reservations about how appropriate it was to release a new Doors album a few months after Jim Morrison's death, but has attributed most of the responsibility to their record company and its people, who insisted on doing so.
Other Voices was the first Doors album that did not enter the Billboard Top-10.
