Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones
About the album Sticky Fingers
In 1971, the Rolling Stones released one of the best albums in their career, as well as one of the most accomplished albums in the history of rock music of all time. Its name: Sticky Fingers. The album was recorded under the guidance of producer Jimmy Miller, who managed to make the album's sound rely on the past, while still sounding contemporary.
In Sticky Fingers, Mick Taylor made his first studio recording with the Rolling Stones, taking the place of Brian Jones, who had died two years earlier. Present in the studio were saxophonist Bobby Keys, Billy Preston, Jack Nitzsche, Nicky Hopkins, and Ian Stewart on keyboards. The original, authentic cover of the album featured an actual zipper, which could be pulled down to reveal a white piece of fabric suggesting men's underwear.
The compatriots of the Rolling Stones led Sticky Fingers to No. 7, while the band's American friends raised it to No. 5 on the Billboard. The 3,000,000 copies it sold in the USA alone reveal the greatness of Sticky Fingers.
