About the album Greetings From The Asbury Park

Greetings From The Asbury Park was Bruce Springsteen's first album, as well as his first major adventure in the world of record companies.

The album, due to its low budget, was mostly recorded in June 1972 under time pressure. Subsequently, producer Mike Appel wanted to include predominantly acoustic songs without the accompaniment of a band. Springsteen insisted on the opposite.

The album was initially ignored. Notably, in England it entered the Top-100 in 1985 (!) due to the success of Born In The U.S.A. Today, decades after its release, it seems like a postcard from that distant era of the early '70s.
