About the album Fear Of Music
On August 3, 1979, Talking Heads released their third album titled Fear Of Music. The album is considered among their best works. David Byrne and his crew have the desire to continue their experiments and expand them. The opening song of the album, I Zimbra, is, for example, a mix between Afrobeat and New Wave, while the first single of the album, Life During Wartime, moves between funk and post-punk, thereby creating a nightmare atmosphere highly stressful for the unsuspecting listener.
The majority of the compositions belong to Byrne, but the contribution of the other band members cannot be ignored, and certainly, the contribution and work of Brian Eno cannot go unnoticed, as he, for the second consecutive work of Talking Heads, stands with his talent, aesthetics, and knowledge alongside his New Yorker friends.
At the time of its release, Fear Of Music reached No. 21 in the U.S., selling 500,000 copies. Not bad at all for a band with such a distinctive sound. In Britain, it reached No. 33.
