About the album More Songs About Buildings And Food
More Songs About Buildings And Food was the second album by Talking Heads. It managed to reach No. 49 in the U.S. and sell 500,000 copies. Their sound here becomes more experimental, more avant-pop.
Special mention must be made of the album cover, which was created from a union of 529 close-up color photographs. The idea was David Byrne's, and the implementation of the idea was carried out by Jimmy DeSana. The single from the album was Take Me To The River (a cover of a song by Al Green from 1974), which was a commercially successful effort as it was the band's first single to enter the Billboard Top 30.
This album was the reason for the band to collaborate for the first time with Brian Eno on the album's production. It was the first of three consecutive albums where the British producer stood by the Talking Heads' side.
