Antidepressants by Suede
About the album Antidepressants
Antidepressants is the tenth studio album by the English rock band Suede, which was released on September 5, 2025. It is the second part of a planned "black and white" trilogy that began with the album Autofiction (2022). The production was signed by Ed Buller, who has been collaborating with Suede since their debut in 1992.
The frontman Brett Anderson described the record as their "post-punk" album, in contrast to its "punk" predecessor. The sound is characterized as raw, gothic, and "angular," with influences from bands like Siouxsie and the Banshees and Public Image Ltd. The songs were composed by the band members (Brett Anderson, Richard Oakes, Neil Codling). The lyrics focus on the tensions of modern life, paranoia, anxiety, mortality, and the effort for human connection in a disconnected world. Antidepressants was recorded live, aiming to capture the energy and immediacy of the band.
The album debuted at No. 2 on the UK charts.
