About the album Head Music
At the time of the release of the British band Suede's fourth album, britpop was receding from the spotlight. Suede adopted an alternative and more electronic sound and presented it in 1999's Head Music.
The album came at a time when two of the band's key members were going through difficult phases in their personal lives. Brett Anderson was facing drug addiction issues, and Neil Codling was bedridden at his home for a year due to the myalgic encephalomyelitis that plagued him. Nonetheless, producer Steve Osborne managed to collaborate with them and create Head Music.
The album would become the third of Suede's albums to reach No. 1 in their homeland and would somewhat complete the most successful period in the band's history. Head Music also made its mark on the charts of other European countries. It became particularly popular in the Scandinavian countries.
