About the album Texas Flood
The debut of Stevie Ray Vaughan and his band Double Trouble, the 1983 Texas Flood, is the result of a coincidence. In July 1982, Stevie Ray Vaughan and his band participated in the Montreux Jazz Festival. There, they were watched by Jackson Browne, who was thrilled with them and offered them to use his own studio for recording for free.
Texas Flood is an album full of blues songs that do not disappoint the listener. It contains both songs composed by Vaughan himself and covers of other earlier blues songs. Besides, the title of the album comes from the song Texas Flood by Larry Davis from 1958.
The album reached No. 38 on the Billboard chart and as the years went by and Stevie Ray Vaughan's fame grew, more and more people sought after it.
