About the album Diabolus In Musica
After 15 years of discography, Slayer "dive headfirst" into Nu Metal, a trend that dominates the mid to late '90s and is mainly associated with newly emerging metal bands. Diabolus In Musica will become the eighth album of the thrash metal pioneers, who here seem to follow rather than lead the metal scene. It is the most experimental sound that Slayer has created, and in its time, it sparked both negative and positive comments. Even Kerry King has expressed negative views about this album of his band.
The album title Diabolus In Musica - which certainly provokes public sentiment - is an expression used to denote the tritone, which during the Middle Ages was not allowed in music as it led to dissonance, meaning that the Devil had invaded the music written in this way.
Slayer once again had Paul Bostaph on drums. Rick Rubin was in charge of the album's production. Diabolus In Musica reached No. 31 on the Billboard chart.
