About the album South Of Heaven
In 1988, the American band Slayer released South Of Heaven, demonstrating that they continue to be the most aggressive thrash metal band in the world. This album is their fourth studio work.
In terms of sound, producer Rick Rubin was “accused” of burying the drums on the album. On the other hand, Slayer were among the first to sign with Rick Rubin's newly established company, Def American Recordings.
South Of Heaven reached No. 57 on the Billboard chart, becoming Slayer's second album to enter the Top 200. Its sales in their homeland have reached 500,000 copies.
