Power Of The Night by Savatage
About the album Power Of The Night
Savatage, the heavy metal band from Tarpon Springs, Florida, released their second studio album in 1985. The sound of Power Of The Night features the typical heavy sound of the mid-1980s with many power metal elements. The truth is, it is the band's first album on Atlantic Records, whose people pushed them for a more "radio friendly" sound, and this somewhat confused things for Savatage.
The ten compositions on the album are primarily the work of brothers Jon and Criss Oliva. The album's production was done by the British Max Norman. From this particular album, the singles Hard For Love and In The Dream stood out. After recording the album, the Oliva brothers fired bassist Keith Collins as they were not satisfied with his musical performance during the album's recording.
The Power Of The Night did not find significant success on the charts. The only listing was on the German charts, where it reached No. 61.
