Savatage
Group
Savatage is an American heavy metal band formed in 1978 in Tarpon Springs, Florida, by brothers Jon and Criss Oliva. The band is known for their theatrical compositions and the epic narrative themes of their albums. During their career, they released several successful albums such as "Hall of the Mountain King," "Gutter Ballet," and "Streets: A Rock Opera." In 1993, the death of guitarist Criss Oliva in a car accident deeply affected the band. Nevertheless, they continued their musical journey for several years with changes in their lineup and emphasized more symphonic and progressive elements. Savatage also contributed to the creation of the successful side project Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
