About the album Rock City
In 1977, two years after their formation as a band in New York City, Riot entered the studio and recorded their first album, Rock City.
Rock City comes at a time when Heavy Metal as a genre is starting to gain attention and audience, and ultimately it is the era where we transition from Hard Rock to a heavier sound, which is exactly what is captured in the album.
Thanks to this record and its success, Riot opened some concerts for AC/DC and Molly Hatchet.
