About the album Grace Under Pressure

In 1984, Rush returned to discography with their tenth studio album, which would be titled Grace Under Pressure. We are now in the mid-1980s, and this has influenced the progressive rock of Rush, who have incorporated quite a few new wave elements into the eight compositions that make up the album in their effort to sound contemporary. They had done the same with their previous album.

Grace Under Pressure was recorded between November 1983 and March 1984 at Le Studio in Quebec. The compositions of the album were once again created in the same way Rush used to write their songs, meaning Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson wrote the music and drummer Neil Peart wrote the lyrics. The album cover was once again designed by Canadian designer Hugh Syme.

The album achieved success in countries like Canada (No.4), the USA (No.10), and the United Kingdom (No.5). Sales in the USA exceeded 1,000,000 copies.
